Issue Position

Illegal immigration is a problem that is not only burdening our health care and public education systems, but is also driving down wages for American workers.

I believe immigration reform needs to start with fully securing the US border. We have been told by the federal government that they would secure the border in 1986 and 2006 and both times they failed to do so.

Once we secure our border we can begin to reform our legal immigration system, which today makes it extremely difficult for those who seek to come here legally. For example, the H1B visa system that provides a path for highly skilled workers to immigrate to America is full of unnecessary obstacles and red tape.
